Replace, reissue or get a duplicate FASTag (Axis, ICICI, HDFC and others)
A replacement keeps your FASTag account and balance and gives you a new sticker. You need one more often than you'd think: a new windshield, a peeled tag or a class mismatch all mean a new tag.
Quick answer
Ask the bank that issued your FASTag for a replacement. Most banks charge about ₹100 (Axis ₹100, ICICI ₹99.12, HDFC ₹100, IDFC FIRST ₹100; Kotak charges nothing) and usually ask for your RC. Your balance moves to the new tag, and the old one is closed: only one FASTag can be active on a vehicle. Axis Bank: replacement step by step
Axis Bank still issues new FASTags in 2026. Its replacement request covers three cases: damaged, stolen or mismatched tag.
- Log in at fastag.axis.bank.in Use the customer portal for your Axis FASTag account.
- Open Helpdesk Go to Helpdesk → Request Information/Queries.
- Choose the request type Type Request, sub-type Replacement, then pick damaged, stolen or mismatched.
- Upload your RC The RC upload is mandatory. The fee is ₹100 including taxes.

What happens to your old tag
Under the One Vehicle One FASTag rule, only the latest tag on a vehicle stays active. NPCI's policy auto-closes older duplicate tags 15 days after a new tag is registered for the same vehicle. Your balance is transferred to the new account. Remove and destroy the old sticker so it isn't read by mistake.
Switching bank without a new tag (OneTag)
Since 17 September 2026, the Rajmargyatra app lets you move your FASTag to another bank and keep the same physical tag and Tag ID. You check eligibility with your vehicle number, get a 6-digit Mobile Verification Code from your current bank, pick the new bank and finish its KYC and wallet setup. The old bank closes your old wallet and refunds the balance after adjustments. You can't port again for 6 months.
